Secondary wiring errors are found late, during commissioning, when they are costly to correct and when the outage window is already committed. Protection changes on existing panels in live substations add the further discipline of Safety documents, isolations and working within the network operator's safety rules, and on NGET infrastructure under the NGET Safety Rules and Supplier Requirements

Power-IS installs and wires protection and control systems in new substations and on existing panels within live substations, to the approved schematics and wiring diagrams, with point-to-point testing and wiring records completed by the installing team, so the commissioning engineer starts from a proven installation.

What the package covers

• Installation of protection and control panels, marshalling kiosks and RTU / SCADA cubicles

• DC systems, including battery chargers and DC distribution boards

• Secondary wiring, multicore installation, glanding, terminations and ferruling

• Protection changes and modifications on existing panels, wired to red and green electrical wiring diagrams and schematic drawings and planned around permits and isolations

• Point-to-point testing and wiring checks, with as-built wiring records for the client's drawing office.

Working in live substations
